I have just achieved a major accomplishment.  Yesterday, I made my book, The Bipolar Bodhisattva, public on my site.  It is a mental health and spirituality memoir covering fifteen years of my blog posts, in addition to supplementary material never before seen.  It sits at the intersection of trauma recovery, Dharma studies, and Jungian psychology.

My book tells the story of my repeated descents into Hell throughout life to be broken more than once, and my eventual successful ascent as a completely different, whole person.  I relied heavily on the writings of Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell during the assembly and writing of this book, as the parallels between Jung’s alchemical individuation and Campbell’s Hero’s Journey motif bore too much similarity to one another to ignore.

As such, the book follows the standard progression of the proverbial Hero’s alchemical individuation, from the initial descent through the Dark Night of the Soul, all the way to the ignition of the Divine Spark.  In the course of individuating and awakening, the vast majority of my life trauma was healed in some remarkable ways that I was not expecting.

Also like the Hero’s Journey, my experience gave me the ability to assemble and write this book, which contains important psychological, philosophical, and mystical information the world could really use right now, and that is not a statement of bipolar grandiosity.  That is the purpose of the Hero’s Journey: to bring back a healing gift to the community.  This book is that gift.

I can tell this is the case due to a vision I had in conjunction with finishing and publishing the book.  The Dragon that I can see within me, she has been incubating seven eggs for quite some time.  When I see her now, one of her eggs has hatched, and there is a baby dragon with purple iridescent scales.  Visions of The Wolf often accompany The Dragon, and in them, one of the seven puppies is now a grown wolf: a mature part of my inner Pack.  My book is a living thing within the collective unconscious now.

The retail price of the book is $19.99 and is available as an EPUB (scroll down), although the price is due to the length (640 pages) and the over 100 color art plates.  It is also available at Apple Books. The art that I produced following my awakening and during the Dark Night and subsequent ascent is relevant to the writing, and so there is a painting or a photo accompanying each chapter.  Hopefully a print version can be part of the future.

From now until the Fall Equinox (September 22), you can get 30% off the cover price with the code NEW30.  For now it is only available through my site and Apple Books, but will be on other formats soon.  If you want me to get the full cover price of the book, though, order through my site.
